Chang Kong

Senior Colonel Chang Kong is one of the main two publicity stunts completed by the United Nations Expeditionary Force (UNEF) on Paradise, the other being Colonel Joseph Bishop.

Chang was originally promoted to Lieutenant Colonel for defending a warehouse that the Ruhar wanted to retake the first time they attempted to retake Paradise. He was not promoted to Colonel as Joe was because he lost the only son of a high ranking Chinese official.

He was also imprisoned by the Kristang at the same time as Joe, Fal Desai, and Margaret Adams for refusing to murder innocent Ruhar.

After being broken out of his cell and then re-detained by the Ruhar He followed Joe to the stars and back to Earth on the basis that Joe is Lucky. Chang was Joe's Executive Officer (XO) aboard the Flying Dutchman until the Renegades mission when he was detained by his government.

He was also the military officer in charge of the Beta-Site group on Avalon and subsequently took command of the Flying Dutchman after the Valkyrie was acquired.

During the events of Brushfire, he was promoted to Senior Colonel (Brigadier General equivalent) and is the UN Secretary of Homeworld Security.

During the events of Breakaway, he re-assumed command of the Flying Dutchman.
