Derek Bonsu

Derek Bonsu is a pilot for the United Nations Expeditionary Force (UNEF) on FOB Jaguar.

Bonsu is known as being happy all the time and always having a smile on his face.

As a Lietenant, his Dobreh/Chicken fighter gunship was the first to return to duty after Paradise/Gehtanu was retaken by the Ruhar. He is meticulous about taking care of his equipment which is why his fighter is able to be flown by a Ruhar pilot.

Ruhar pilot, Saily Chernandagren, understanding that, due to the current circumstances on Gehtanu, it would probably be the last time Bonsu would be able to go up in a fighter and took him on as co-pilot when she needed to take the aircraft on a check flight. During the flight, the Kristang attacked Gehtanu and during the "Great Fur ball" nattle, their aircraft was hit and disabled far from any civilized areas. The aircraft damage was so bad, they had to eject, but Saily's ejection seat malfunctioned and she was severely injured. Bonsu landed far away from Saily, but searched for her because he saw her ejection seat malfunction. Bonsu later saved Saily and was attempting to get her to safety. While waiting for a rescue, they had no reason to hope for, the Mavericks showed up and rescued them.

Bonsu joined the Mavericks as Irene Striebich's co-pilot and the team proceeded to activate Giant TerraWatt MASER Projectors under the surface of Gehtanu.

Bonsu and Striebich become romantically involved during their missions on Gehtanu, under the local Ruhar Planetary Government, uncovering the remaining MASER projectors.

Bonsu was promoted to Captain.

Bonsu is one of the first human to jump a star ship that was not stolen.
