Jarrett beat Joseph Bishop in a foot race on Camp Alpha. At that time, she was in a short-lived sexual relationship with Joe. After Joe "disappeared" when the Ruhar re-took Gehtanu (Paradise/Pradassis) from the Kristang, Jarrett, Emily Perkins, Dave Czajka and Jesse Colter were rounded up by the Ruhar for interrogation because of their association with Joe and to see if they knew what had happened to him. Along with [Perkins, Irene Striebich, Derek Bonsu, Colter and Czajka, Jarrett is recruited by The Merry Band of Pirates posing as a group of Ruhar that Perkins calls Emby (Mysterious Benefactor) to activate Giant TerraWatt MASER Projectors under the surface of Paradise. During the Mavericks mission to reactivate all the MASER Projectors on Paradise (during the events of Book 3.5: Trouble on Paradise), Jarrett blew up Tavalen Island. Jarrett, as with the rest of the human Mavericks, has come to really care about Nert Dandurff, taking him under her wing and acting like a big sister to him. She is now in a serious romantic relationship with Colter.
