The Tolen Grathur was part of the Ruhar Gehtanu Task Force. She was unlucky enough to be within range of the Kristang ships To Seek Glory In Battle is Glorious and We Are Proud To Honor Clan Sub-Leader Rash-au-Tal Vergent Who Inspires Us Every Day when they jumped in twenty three thousand kilometers apart on either side of her. Only luck saved her from complete destruction that day; a maser beam from the Glory hit a missile from the Vergent just as that missile evaded her point defenses. Instead of a devastating direct hit, the explosion of the missile warhead twelve hundred kilometers away only severely damaged the her, allowing the hapless ship to perform a short emergency jump. She was out of service for several weeks repairing damage.[2] Assigned, along with the Mem Hertall and the Toman, to scout the system for hidden Kristang vessels remaining after the Pradassis Task Force was escorted away from Gehtanu.[3] |
