Called the Toaster by the Mavericks, the Ruh Tostella was a decommissioned destroyer converted into a training ship. She was assigned to a Ruhar training exercise involving the [Mavericks]], Verd-kris and Ruhar Cadets when the main part of the battlegroup, attached to the Jeraptha star carrier Deal Me In, jumped away for a real-time engagement with the Bosphuraq. As the Toaster was waiting to perform a combat dock with the Jeraptha star carrier Deal Me In, a Bosphuraq battlecruiser jumped in and began attacking. The Toaster was hit by masers, missiles and railgun darts. Components were overloading and exploding all over the forward half of the hull. A quarter of the ship’s original hull was missing entirely. Everything forward of Frame Thirty Five was missing. The sensors were showing an extensive debris field around and mostly in front of the cruiser, wreckage blasted away from the ship by an advanced technology warhead. The Toaster was dead. Half the defensive maser cannons were offline and only half of those were even in a restart cycle. Shields were weak and one shield, toward what was now the nose of the ship, was disconnected from a power source. With the missiles bearing down on her, she escaped when Derek Bonsu managed to jump her away. After minimal repairs, Cadet Jinn Garnor was able to maintain one reactor and charge the coils for two jumps. The Toaster jumped back to the Deal Me In. The Toaster manually docked with the Deal Me In. After to jumpimg to the Kormat system, The Toaster was abandoned along with the Deal Me In near Camp Alpha.[2] |
